Item: Vintage Montgomery Ward Powr House "101" Type 1 Denim JacketÂ
Era: 1939-1945Â
Origin: USA
Material: 100% CottonÂ
Color: Denim indigoÂ
Condition: Good
Size: Large
Additional Information:
This is an extremely rare vintage denim jacket from
Powr House Montgomery Ward’s “101” line, dating back to the WWII period (1939–1945). Similar to the iconic Levi’s 506XX “Type 1” jacket.
What makes this example particularly special is the use of laurel wreath buttons, a detail specific to wartime production. During WWII, manufacturers substituted their branded metal buttons with these generic laurel wreath types probably due to rationing and wartime restrictions. After the war, 101 jackets returned to their usual branded buttons, making wartime versions very rare today.
Features a single chest pocket without flap, secured by copper rivets. Selvedge denim, cinch back (though cut off at some point in its life, as was common).

Shoulders 55 cm / 21.5"Â
Chest 60 cm / 23.5"Â
